The inaugural Pink Tie Gala will be a “pink tie” event to celebrate survivorship, while helping raise funds to save lives and end breast cancer forever. Produced by a group of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® volunteers, the gala strives to honor breast cancer survivors and community leaders whose contributions have created a difference in the breast health community. With approximately 500 guests expected, the event is projected to sell-out.

The event chair, Melissa Johnson will be joined by Mr. Fred McGriff, legendary baseball player and Tampa native, as the Guest Co-Host and Ms. Erica Riggins, Anchor on BayNews 9, as the evenings Emcee.

The Pink Tie Gala is an opportunity to share in the Komen promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever. One in Eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during her lifetime. Each diagnosis affects everyone in that person’s life. Komen is the only organization fighting to cure breast cancer at every stage, from the causes to the cures and the pain and anxiety of every moment in between.
